We planned our trip around two things: 1) Going to a Braves game and 2) Scoping out the best places to eat in the ATL/Buckhead area by using the TV Food Map app available at the iTunes app store...seriously the coolest thing.
We've attended Braves games in the past, but never sat as close as we did for this game. We were joking about how "terrible" it was to be sitting "too close" to catch a foul ball...which Chris wanted OH so badly...clearly channeling his days as a little league player.
Pretty close, huh!?! |
Of course we got to Turner Field plenty early for us to take pics with all our fave Braves players' numbers, statues, hang out in the Braves Hall of Fame, and Chris even took his shot at pitching a few fast balls! [for a video, visit my facebook]
Ok, so he is a bigger fan than us... |
The game of baseball will always be "our thing." Chris and I actually met at a baseball field when I was in the 8th grade! Chris played baseball all through grade school and intramural softball during and post college. We even took our engagement pictures at the field where we first met!
Me with Greg Maddux's #31, also Chris' baseball number |
Chris with his fave Chipper Jones' #10 |
I think he remembers us! |
If you're ever in the ATL/Buckhead area I highly recommend the The Westin and The JW Marriot. If you're a foody, check out Tin Lizzies, Ria's Bluebird, The Bucket Shop Cafe [only if you're an Auburn fan!], The Buckhead Diner, and Bistro Niko [to name a few!]
We already miss ATL....KS is opening a store in Alpharetta later this year, so we just might have to do it again!
Until next time blogger friends,
Looks like you guys had a blast! I've always wanted to go to Atlanta, so now I really need to go to check out the great places to eat you listed!
