Atlanta, Home of the Braves

Recently, my Austin based employer decided to open a retail store in none other than one of our favorite cities, Atlanta, Georgia.   I was already going to be there for work, so we decided to head East a few days early.  We didn't realize it until we were at the airport, but this was actually our first vacation that was just the two of us....EVER!  We couldn't believe it!

We planned our trip around two things: 1) Going to a Braves game and 2) Scoping out the best places to eat in the ATL/Buckhead area by using the TV Food Map app available at the iTunes app store...seriously the coolest thing.

We've attended Braves games in the past, but never sat as close as we did for this game.  We were joking about how "terrible" it was to be sitting "too close" to catch a foul ball...which Chris wanted OH so badly...clearly channeling his days as a little league player.
Pretty close, huh!?!

Of course we got to Turner Field plenty early for us to take pics with all our fave Braves players' numbers, statues, hang out in the Braves Hall of Fame, and Chris even took his shot at pitching a few fast balls! [for a video, visit my facebook]

Ok, so he is a bigger fan than us...

The game of baseball will always be "our thing."  Chris and I actually met at a baseball field when I was in the 8th grade!  Chris played baseball all through grade school and intramural softball during and post college.  We even took our engagement pictures at the field where we first met!
Me with Greg Maddux's #31, also Chris' baseball number
Chris with his fave Chipper Jones' #10
I think he remembers us!

 If you're ever in the ATL/Buckhead area I highly recommend the The Westin and The JW Marriot.  If you're a foody, check out Tin LizziesRia's BluebirdThe Bucket Shop Cafe [only if you're an Auburn fan!], The Buckhead Diner, and Bistro Niko [to name a few!]
We already miss ATL....KS is opening a store in Alpharetta later this year, so we just might have to do it again!

 Until next time blogger friends,

Road Trippin' : Warrenton

If you're into Pinterest and love all things crafty & decor...you need Warrenton in your life!  This two week "antique week" happens twice a year between the small towns of Roundtop & Warrenton.  What used to be one of the best kept secrets of South Texas, is now a shopping MUST for women all over the state country!  You'll experience miles and miles of fun and unique vendors, including one of my faves, Junk Gypsy, who now have a permanent store front!  Check out their story if you're looking for an inspiring read....
{For dates and information about Antique Weekend, click here}

Anyway, I always make it at least once a year, twice a year if I'm lucky!  This last weekend, my five month preggers bestie and I made the trip to our fave shopping destination.  We've learned from our years of experience that you don't go to Warrenton/Roundtop without a list.  You end up spending WAY too much money and on things you didn't really need.  So, our list for this shopping trip included:
  • Hooks or a rack for my dream of an herb garden
  • Decor for Baby Hollstin's nautical inspired nursery
And that's IT!  LoL- it doesn't sound like a lot, but trust me... its easy to get carried away...Not to worry, we still did plenty of damage!  {sorry hubbies Chris & Chris!}
